The figure illustrates the mean hours spent by female on household chores(unemployed, part-time and full-time) compared with that of male who had been involved in full-time work in the United Kingdim over three years: 1985, 1995, and 2005.
Overall, the unemployed women, part-time employed women and full-time employed women experienced slight fluctuations on the time used to perform household activities whereas time used by full-time employed men increased minorly over the time period.
In 1985, the hours spent on household activities by female was 7 hours which decreased to 6.5 in 1995 and again rise slightly to 7in 2005. This is the highest time spent in all the given time period. The involvement of women with part-time employment started with slightly over 5 in 1985 and declined to 5 but managed to reach 6 hours by the end of time period.
Women with full-time employment invested 2 hours in 1985 which reduced modestly to 1.5 in 1995. However, this rose considerably to about 3 hours in 2005. Men used to spent 1hours in 1985 which is least hours among the fiven data in each year. In addition, it remained stable in 1995 and grow slightly to 1.5 by the end of the 2005.
