The bar chart compares the passanger’s waiting time on different types of public transportation in four big cities. Meanwhile, the table presents the cost of each transportation mode. The presented data is collected in 2020.
Overall, New York had the longest waiting period on all transportations. In terms of the cost, Tokyo had the most affordable ticket for their communal transports.
From the bar chart, we can see that New Yorkers had to wait for 10 minutes if they took bus, and less than 7 minutes if using subway or tram. On the other hand, people in Tokyo only required to wait for below 6 minutes for all mode of transportations, with the shortest waiting time was on subway. Meanwhile, those who lived in London and Paris, similarly needed to wait for around 5 minutes if they wanted to go with the tram. However, it would be more faster if they traveled with trams, as the waiting period only took less than 5 minutes.
Moving to the transportation costs, the New York and London city governments set a high price for bus and subway tickets, which hit around US$3. Meanwhile, both in Paris and Tokyo, the bus and subway tickets was sold for less than US$3, with Tokyo had the lowest price at US$2. In comparison with the previous transports, London had the most expensive tram ticket at US$ 2.7, followed by Paris and New York. On the other hand, Tokyo remain had the lowest price at US$2.6 among the others.
