Overall, there were more male students in engineering than females, but the participation of men decreased while studying by women increased over the years.

In 1992, men engineering students were exactly 14,000 and this was the highest figure during the whole period .But the number of male students decreased to 12,000 in 2002, after the 10 years. Next, the trends remained stable at the mentioned figure in the last year of the period.

However, female students made up onl2000 numbers in 1992, next there was a significant increase about 4,000 students who were women in 2002. This figure was less three times than the boys who were learning machinery in this year. After that, the number of female learners of machine-building went up to 6,000 and this figure was half compared to men students in 2012.
