The figure illustrates the percentage of adults by age gruop in the UK who used the Internet daily in the years 2003 to 2006. Overall, tge percentage of daily Internet users increased across all groups and the youngest group showed the highest usage. Moreover, as age increased, percentage of daily Internet users decreased.
In 2003, 80% of adults aged 16-24 used the Internet every day, and they were the group with the highest usage. The figure remained the same in 2004, and witnessed 10% increase in 2005 and stood out as the highest percentage of users in the bar chart.
The three oldest age groups demonstrated much lower levels of daily Internet usage fluctuated, starting with 55%, rising, then falling and finally ending with 70% in 2006. People aged 55-64 experienced continuous growth, beginning with 33% in 2003 and showed the same points of third group’s starting share.
The oldest age group who aged 65 and over showed considerably low Internet usage in the dataset. Starting with around 2% in 2003, the figure went through the roof with almost 20% in 2004 and reached the peak in 2005, then slightly declined to just under 20% in 2006.
