Meanwhile, the figures for older people also increased. Before a moderate rise to almost 70% in 2004, the initial figure for adults aged from 45 to 53 who used internet was approximately 55%. The figure decreased mildly to about 61% in the following year and rose again to just under 70% in 2006. A steady increase was observed in the percentage of internet users belonging to 55-64 age group from about 32% to roughly 55% between 2003 and 2006. The proportion of the oldest age group who used internet started at approximately 5%, the figure then experienced a considerable growth in the following two years, reaching 20%. However, it then decreased subtly in the last year, finishing at just under 20%.
