Overall, all decline can be observed throughout the period except for Usa. While Italia consistently remained the dominant category, Usa experience the most dramatic growth and eventually overtook Uk. By contrast, Uk remained the lowest throughout the timeframe.
In 1990, Portugal emerged as the leading category, standing at 25%, while Italia and the UK followed at 21% and 8% respectively. By comparison, the figures for the USA were far less significant, at approximately 8%. However, the subsequent years witnessed a downward trajectory. While Portugal declined gradually, Italia followed a similar trajectory, eventually reaching around 18% by 2005.
In contrast to the trends observed in Portugal and Italia, the USA and the UK followed a different pattern throughout the timeframe. Although starting from a relatively low base, the USA experienced substantial growth, eventually overtaking the UK by 2005. By the end of the timeframe, Portugal had consolidated its position as the dominant category at approximately 18%, whereas the UK remained the lowest, standing at only around 6%.
