The bar chart presents the proportion of different demographics (men, women, and children) who consumed 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day in the UK between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, it is shown that the percentages were steadily growing throughout the period given, except for the last few years when each group went through a small decline. Additionally, women kept the dominant portion for the entire time interval.
The percentrage of women who ate horticultural products started at approximately 27 percent in 2001. After that, the figure saw a stable growth without any disruptions and then peaked at a value above 30 percent in 2006; thereafter, it experienced a slight reduction in percentages landing at a number near 30%.
When it comes to other groups of people, men started at a figure close to 17% and children at approximately 12%. The numbers did not experience any significant change throught the span of the first three years; but afterwards, they started to climb with a number of men peaking at over 25% in 2006, whereas a number of children reached its threashold at somewhere around 25% in 2007. Then the figures for both men and children oversaw a small decline (going down to figures near 25% and 22%, respectively) in 2008.
