The bar chart gives information about British people who used to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables per day from 2001 to 2008, measured in percentage and considering men, women and children.
Overall, the consumption of fruits and vegetables had been growing throughout several years among all three categories. However, after some period of time it started to decline.
It is evident that the proportion of children and men who ate these kinds of healthy food remained steady from 2001 to 2003, standing at roughly 13% and 17% respectively. Meanwhile, the rate of women was gradually increasing, starting from nearly 21% in 2001 and lying at approximately 26%, in 2003.
From 2004, the tendency by children and men had changed: both columns illustrate gradual growth, being at 23% and 27% respectively, in 2006. Following the same trend, the proportion of women was inclining as well, reaching its peak at 35%, in 2006.
From 2007, the numbers of men and women started to decrease, showing lower interest in eating fruits and vegetables.
