Overall, it is clearly seen that the highest levels in both reading and mathematics were recorded in early primary school, while the lowest level was observed in mathematics at lower-secondary school.
Firstly, in 2019, students in early primary school had the highest reading proficiency rate, at 72.4 percent. The proportion of students achieving minimum reading ability in lower-secondary school was 49.66 percent. In addition, the reading proficiency rate in primary school stood at 43.5 percent in 2019.
By contrast, regarding mathematics, the highest figure was also recorded in early primary school, at 69 percent in 2019. Furthermore, the proportion of students meeting the minimum mathematics requirement in primary school was 28.8 percent. Moreover, the lowest level of mathematics proficiency was experienced in lower-secondary school, accounting for 26.62 percent in 2019.
