The given chart demonstrates the leading ten country’s amount of rice produced and consumed in 2020. In all countries except Bangladesh, there is more production taking place, outnumbering the tonnes that are being used.
Hungary and Philipines are the leading rice producing nations, managing 4 to 5 times the amount of rice that india managed to produce (105 tonnes). However, Hungary only managed a net production of 8 tonnes, which is less than philippines’s 23. Moving down the chart, we have three countries who’se productions were roughly the same, with india and qatar consuming a bigger chunk of their production, while tunisia only using 70 of their 87 tonnes of rice.
The remaining five countries record a quite similar amount of rice productivity at around 50 to 60 tonnes, but differ in their consumption behavior, with bangladeh (58) consuming more than 20 percent the amount of rice consumed by vietnam and zambia (26 tonnes).
