Overall, the youngest age groups generally preferred rock and pop music over other categories, whereas the oldest generation loved to listen classical one. The remaining age groups’ music preference varied accordingly.
To begin with, the highest sale record of pop music occurred among the age group of 16 to 22, with nearly 5 million sales. This is followed by rock music, which was accounted for roughly 3.8 million sales. However, only a smallest share of Jazz and classical music contributed in those aged between 16 and 22. For those aged between 23 and 31, the music taste was not so different, representing the sales data varied from approximately 4 million to 2 million for all categories.
People aged between 32 to 45 equally loved all music genres descried excluding pop music, as each recorded at around 3 million sales. Interestingly, rock music was incomparably favorite for 46 to 57 years old group as the sales was accounted for nearly 4 million, while other music types were sold less than 3 million. Lastly, the most enjoyable music for the oldest people were classical one, contributing about 4.5 million sales; however other genres experienced the similar sales with around 3 million.
