The bar chart compares the distribution of phone usage between different age groups from 1998 until 2000. The age grouped into four such as less than 15, 16-30 years, 31-50 years, and 50 or more.
Overall, the majority of juveniles, followed by young adults, had used phones since 1998 until 2000. In contrast only small portion of the population of younger and older age groups used phones.
Over the years, the 16-30 years age group always outnumbered the other age groups, started as high as 53% and gradually declined to 44% in 2000. Similar with the younger age group which is between 31-50 years, where starting at 41% and plummeting to 37%. However, a notable shift was apparent on the younger and older age group, where over the year the number of people that use phones is increasing, especially between the year 1998 and 1999, where in 1999 8% of both groups already use phones which leaves a gap as high as 6%. The trend continued where the proportion of people that aged between 16 and 30 years decreased at a slower rate and people that aged less than 15 years or more than 50 years old climbed at constant rate.
