Overall, the United Arab Emirates and the United States has the highest levels of water consumption, while Bangladesh had by far the lowest figure. Most of the remaining countries consumed between 900 and 1,700 gallons per person per day.
The United Arab Emirates was the largest consumer of industrial water, at about 2,300 gallons per person per day. The figure for the United States was slightly lower, at around 2,200 gallons. Canada and Israel followed, both have the same level of consumption approximately 1,700 gallons. Water consumption in Botswana and Brazil stood at roughly 1,500 gallons, while the Russia consumed about 1,350 gallons per day.
By contrast, the other countries showed lower levels of water use. Denmark and Australia consumed approximately 1,200 gallons per person per day. Germany, the Dominican Republic, the global and Colombia average were all close to 1,000 gallons. Egypt recorded slightly lower figures, while the United Kingdom and South Africa consumed around 900 gallons. China used only about 750 gallons per person per day, and Bangladesh had the lowest consumption, at approximately 550 gallons.
