Overall, popular music was the most favoured by audiences from 15 to 44 years old, while older age groups preferred opera. Notably, popular genre attracted the most attendees among others.
Concerning 15-24 age bracket, at 38%, popular music was the dominnant, almost triple opera figure (13%) and outnumbered the classical one’s. A simillar pattern was also evident in 25-34 age group, with popular music accouting for 27%, while opera and classical proportions only made up 14% and 8%, respectively. In the 35-44 cohort, the figure for classical genre consituted 11% which was thirdly surpassed by the popular rate (33%), and the opera percentage.
On the other hand, a different pattern was evident in 2 older cohorts, with opera music attracted the most attendance, at 15% point in both 45-54 and 55+ age brackets. Popular music still remained its popularity among people aged 45-54 with the figure of 13%, while classical rate was only one-tenth. In the oldest cohort, classical figure was higher than one’s for popular, with 8% and 5%, correspondingly.
