Argentina and Japan witnessed a decrease in prices, whereas China, India, and Bangladesh experienced an increase, while in Brazil the prices remained unchanged in both years.
In 1993, Argentina reached to its peak of about 28 pounds for one kilogram clothing, before falling to around 26 pounds in 2003. As the same as Argentina, Japan also sow a decrease in price. The price was 15 pounds for per kilogram clothing in 1993 and declined to about 13 pounds in 2003. Brazil recorded no change with roughly 23 pounds in both years.
Looking at the other countries, China’s importing cost was 10 pounds for one kilogram clothing in 1993, before increasing to around 17 pounds in 2003. In 1993, India started its importing price with about 7 pounds, and increased to 12 pounds for a kilogram clothing in 2003. Bangladesh recorded the lowest figure of around just under 5 pounds in 1993. The figure then reached about 5 pounds for one kilogram clothing by 2003.
