The bar chart compares the proportion of males and females across various age groups who did not engage in physical activity in 2005.
Looking from overall perspective, the proportion of individuals who didn’t do exercise increased with age for gender. Additionally, regardless of age females depicted higher trend than males.
Throughout the period males were generally less inactive than females across all age groups. Among the age 18-24 only 12% of males stayed inactive, which was the lowest percentage on the chart. In the next age group 25-34 inactivity increased to 22%, marking a 10% rise. However, this growth became less pronounced in the older age group. Males in their 35-44 and 45-54 began to lose interest to sport, showing 29% and 32%, respectively. This increasing pattern of inactivity reached the oldest age group over 55years old, where proportion peaked significant 37%, the highest level observed.
Focusing on female’s pattern, who surpassed males in terms of not participating in physical activity. Among young girls (18-24) depicting 18%, they were dramatically engaged in sport compared to other age categories. A different trend can be seen in the 25-34 females, showing 26%. By contrast, the 35-44 and 45-54 senior category, showed 32% and 48%, males inactivity rates were lower even in such old age. As for oldest category, 55+ it is seen unbelievable 45% of inactivity, reaching its all-time high.
