The bar chart shows changes in the number of visitors to four different museums in five months, from June to September and December. Overall, the trajectories of all museums varied significantly. Apart from the British Museum, whose number increased by December, all museums saw a downward trend. Notably, in August, three museums, not including the Science Museum, attracted most of their visitors.
The History Museum and the British Museum exhibited contrasting trends over the period. In June, both History and British museums had relatively similar numbers of visitors, with respective figures of 405,000 and 415,000. By July, the former saw a decline in its number by 5,000, falling to 400,000, while the latter stood more or less unchanged. In August, both museums hit their peaks, with the History Museum welcoming 600,000 visitors and the British Museum representing the biggest shift, attracting more than 700,000 visitors. However, in September both museums experienced a decrease in their number of visitors; just below 600,000 people went to the British Museum, while the History Museum received approximately 380,000 visitors. December was the lowest point for the History Museum, which attracted only 270,000 people in that month. Meanwhile, around 470,000 people visited the British Museum in the same month.
In contrast, the National Museum and the Science Museum consistently showed relatively smaller figures compared to other museums. In June, the Science Museum had the highest number of visitors, with a chart-high figure of 420,000, which is double that of the National Museum (approximately 210,000). By July, figures for both museums fell, with the former receiving 400,000 and the latter having around 185,000 visitors. In August, the Science Museum welcomed the same number of attendees as the previous month, while the National Museum hit its peak, with 380,000 people coming to the museum. 200,000 people went to the National Museum in September, while the Science Museum had 500,000 visitors in that month. By December, the popularity of both museums went down. The National Museum received the same number of visitors as it did in July (185,000), while 300,000 people paid a visit to the Science Museum.
