Overall, Rise in the percentage of population aged 65 or over was roughly the norm in Canada, Germany and UK. While, Germany’ population had the largest percentage of population aaged 65 or over, a significant rise in the elderly population is expected in Canada in 2030.
In 1980, The proportion of those in the 65 or over age group was 15%, it then soared by 10% in 2000. Meanwhile, the figure for Canada and UK were 10 and approxiately 14% respectively in 1980, with both countries shared comparable figures, with nearly 15% in 2000.
By 2030, Projected figures for 2023, the proportion of population aged 65 or over is calculated to halve in Canada. In addition, the rate population aged 65 or senior in Canad will overtake that of UK by a wide margin.
