The bar chart illustrates the proportion of two genders and children eating parts of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis in the UK at 1 1-year interval from 2001 to 2008.
Overall, it is clear that women eating five portions of vegetables and fruits had the highest percentage over the period shown. Interestingly, children always made up the lowest, while the figure for men ranked second over the period.
Initially, women accounted for the highest percentage, approximately 25%. This figure was followed by the figure for men and children, with nearly 17% for the former and 12% for the latter.
In the six years to come, there was a similar trend among those groups, with the highest percentage being women( culminating in 2006 with 35%), and the remaining were men and children, respectively.
In the final year, the figure for women still saw the dominant proportion, about 30%( less than 5% compared to the highest year). Whereas, men and children eating five portions daily witnessed an identical percentage, approximately 25%.
