The chart provided displays a comparison of the five biggest sectors of workforce in Canada in the years 1850 and 2020 separately. Overall, the service sector in 2020 dominates the chart with a major difference compared to 1850. Meanwhile, the remaining industries do not go through such dramatic changes like services.
Starting the bar chart just above 30%, the service industry grows drastically, and reaches 81% by the year 2020. On the contrary, for both the producing and the farming or fishing sectors, about 30% and 20% decline is expressed, respectively.
Unlike the first three, building and power industries do not exhibit any major shifts between the years, and both changes are seen to be below 5%. However, for construction, sees a slight increase in percentages, while this is the exact opposite for energy and water sectors.
To conclude, the most noticeable shift is in the services industry. Meanwhile, the rest do not indicate as big shifts in their trends. Yet, some sectors, such as manufacturing and agriculture, do decrease a lot more compared to construction and energy, in terms of percentage in the Canadian workforce.
