The bar graph presents the percentages in five primary industries of the UK’s workforce in the year 1841 and 2011. It is apparent that manufacturing industry led the UK’s workforce in the year 1841, but in 2011, the pioneering industry was the service.
To start, manufacturing and service industries were the most leading source of income in 1841 with 36% and 33%, respectively. This was followed by agriculture/fishing, accounting of 22%. The least areas were the construction and energy/water with only 5% and 3%, respectively.
Turning in the year 2011, manufacturing, which was over a third tremendously declined, reaching only 9%. On the other hand, service industry skyrocketed, as it doubled its previous data, at 81%. Construction also increased, with an additional of 3% to make it 8% in the aforementioned year. However, a huge decline can be seen in the field of agriculture/fishing. From 22% in 1841, it became 1% in 2011. The same thing happened to energy/water, which was once 3% became 1%.
