The bar chart illustrates the average cost of fuel in the USA between 2005 and 2011.
Overall, the price of fuel recorded in the seven-year period was inclined to experience an upward trend. It is also notable that the lowest cost was documented in the initial year, while the highest figure was at the end of the trend.
At the beginning of the period, the average gas price started at only 2.27$ and rose slightly to 2.57$ in the following year. The fuel price then witnessed a marginal decline to 2.5$ in 2007 before surging to 3.25$ in the middle of the period, making this the period that experienced the second most significant fluctuation in the cost of burning fuel.
From 2008 onwards, there is a fall in the gas price to 2.35$ in the next year. However, the transformation in fuel cost continued following an inclination to rise up to the end of the period with 2.78$ in 2010, and then reaching its peak at 3.52$ in 2011, which marked this time period with the highest average cost of fuel.
