In general, it is noticeable that girls are more interested in playing indoor activities such as doing art and craft or reading books, whereas boys prefer taking part in outdoor activities consisting of going to the park and doing sports. Additionally, the proportion of children playing computer games in both genders have a similar tendency.
It is clear the majority of boys enjoy playing sports during their leisure time, with the percentage of approximately 27%, which is 15% higher than girls. The similar trend can be seen in the activity going to the park, in which 25% of boys and 12% of girls participate. DVDs seem to be a girl’s recreational activity as the figure for boys surpassed girls, with a gap of around 3%.
As shown in the chart, there is no difference in the figure of men and women playing computer games, both at 15%. Compared teenage girls, the proportion of boys who prefer reading books in their free time is 8% lower. Doing art and craft is the most popular activity among females, with 25% of female children engaging in this activity, overtaking that of males by 18%.
