The bar charts show the distribution of Math scores in the Vietnamese National High School Graduation Exam from 2022 to 2025.
Overall, while most students scored between 5 and 8 throughout the period, 2025 showed a global downward trend in performance. Notably, 2025 featured a left-skewed distribution with a record-high number of perfect scores, despite a general drop in average performance.
In the period from 2022 to 2024, the score distributions followed a similar pattern, with the majority of candidates achieving around 7 to 7.4. Among these, 2023 recorded the highest peak, with nearly 60,000 students scoring 7.4, suggesting the test that year was slightly easier. Interestingly, the shape of the graphs during these years was right-skewed, indicating more students scored above average.
In contrast, the 2025 chart displayed a more symmetrical, slightly left-leaning shape, peaking at 5.6 with around 130,000 students. The proportion of good-to-excellent scores (above 7) dropped sharply. However, the number of students achieving a perfect 10 was the highest on record, presenting a stark contrast within an overall tougher year.
