Owerall,it is clear that North Dakota remained the largest stage in both bee colonies and honey production.Whereas Wisconsin showed the lowest results.
First of all, in year 2006, number of honey-making bee colonies in North Dakota accounted for being the most popular by having 350,000 places. Even so South Dakota also was in a good position, with around 230.000 beekeeping colonies. Montana and Minnesota had almost same numbers if places (140-130 thouthands).And finally, in Wisconsin were about 60.000 colonies.
North Dakota was by far the largest producer of honey, approximately 26 million pounds. This figure was nearly three times higher than any other state. South Dakota ,Montana and Minniesota each produced around 9 to 10 millions pounds, showing similar levels of earning capacity. In contrast Wisconsin recorded the lowest production, by making only 6 million pounds of honey.
