Israel had the second best literacy rate (95%) after Georgia and Slovakia and the trends going downwards. On the other hand, more than 3 countries – Colombia, Mexico, Indonesia and Qatar had higher literacy rates that were between 85% to 90%. Brazil got just below 85% whereas Peru and Turkey shared the same literacy rate of 83%. In the same year, 80% literacy rate had got by Syria.
