Overall, renewable energy utilization in 2020 reached the highest percentage in all countries from 2000 to 2020. Although renewable energy usage in 2010 had a slight decrease in Germany, it continued to slowly increase in China and the UK, meanwhile renewables in 2000 placed the lowest utilization.
In Germany, renewable energy utilization in 2000 was almost 7%. This rate increased to 11% in 2010. In 2020, renewables reached a peak of 18%. The USA had the lowest energy usage between 2000 and 2020. In 2000, the percentage was the same as Germany at 7%, then it rose to 10% in 2010. In 2020, renewables remained under 15%.
In China, rates increased compared to other countries. Renewables in 2000 were at 10% while in 2010 they reached 15%, whereas China had an amazing growth with 26% in 2020. Lastly, the UK was the country with the highest renewable energy usage from 2000 to 2020. The rate was 20% in 2000, it slightly increased to 24% in 2010 and had a sharp rise to 35% in 2020.
