The data compares the amount of employees among men and women aged 60-64 in Belgium, the USA, Japan and Indonesia in 1970 and 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of employment in 2020 decreased rapidly in comparison with the percentage in 1970. Moreover, the number of female workers have dropped more than males. Nevertheless, there are no significant differences between countries, they stayed stable.
Looking first at the rate of employment in 1970, the USA topped the list at 86% of male and 78% of female old-aged workers, followed by Indonesia with around 84% of men and 65% of women employees. Belgium also showed quite high percentage with 79% of men and 67% of women being employed. Japan had a slightly lower position than other countries, with 75% of men and 56% of women.
Turning to the graph in 2020, the highest place was given to the USA with slightly lower percentage than in 1970. This was followed by Indonesia with a bit different rates. And there is a big change between 2 other nations, Japan overtook Belgium, while Belgium fell behind Japan.
In summary, it is obvious that the amount of old-aged employers fell down in 2020, but the difference is not that significant.
