The bart chart illustrates the percentage of the workforce in five major industries in 1841 and 2011 in UK.
Overall it is clear that in 1841 vast majority of workers decided to work in manufacturing industry, while the energy/water industry attracted fewest people. In general, the number of workers increased only in two of the mentioned industries which was: services and conctrution.
In 1841, 36 percent of workforce belonged to manufacturing industry, it was the highest percent compared to other industries, for instance, energy industry reached only 3% and only 5% decided to work in construction.
Over the time, situation has changed. In 2011, workforce in services industry significantly increased from 33% to 81% whereas amount of people who worked in manufaturing decreased to only 9%. There was also a noticeable decline of people who work in agriculture and energy. The significant detail is that the most drastical change happened in agriculture, from 22% to only 1%.
