In an overview, it is clear that the people’s interest in buying cars over a period of 30 years has increased significantly. A majority of people own atleat 1 car while a less proportion of people prefer to invest in 3 cars.
To begin with, In 1975 about 45% of the people in the UK owned atleast 1 car while in contrast a similar percentage of people does not possess a single car at the same time. However, in the upcoming years there was s significant decline in the percentage of people who does not have any cars and in 1985 ut reached to 25% and remained the same till 1995. Thereafter, it gradually decreased to approximately 22%. Meanwhile, eventhough there was a reduction in the number of people who owned atleat 1 car during 1975 to 1985, it showed an increasing trend during the rest of the period.
On the other hand, the chart illustrates that by the time passes people are willing to purchase more number of cars. There is a dramatic increase in the number of people who own 2 cars during the period 1975 to 1985 and it reached it peak on 2005 at around 18%. Similar trend is also shown in the owners of 3 cars, there is a considerable growth in that also.
