It is apparent that the proportion of people who own a computer increased gradually over the surveyed period. In addition, in the beginning period, most people did not use any computer, however, at the end of the timeline, almost computer ownership had at least one computer.
According to the chart, in 1997, nearly 70% of the US did not have access to a computer, while 28% of them had at least one computer. There witnessed an upward trend in the percentage of people who possessed one computer to 50% at the end of the period, despite a slight decrease in 2006. In terms of the US who did not have any computers at home, the figure dropped significantly to nearly 20% in 2012.
Starting at a minor percentage, the computer ownership had 2 or 3 more computers stood at about 5% and 0%, respectively. These data varied insignificantly in the first 5 years, then increased consistently until the end of the period. US households that owned two computers peaked at 22%, while only 9% can be seen in them had 3 or more computers after the slight decline in the final year, 2012
