The line graph illustrates the number of queries collected by the tourist information office in a city for half a year in 2011. Overall, the number of three types of queries experienced different trends in the time period. While the number of queries made by telephone and in person saw a significant rise, the volume of queries received via letter and email fell over time.
As is shown by the graph, the number of letters and emails sent to the office started at under 800 in January followed by steadily falling to around 750 in March. Then, it went down considerably until it fell to just under 400 in May. In subsequent months it stayed steady.
By contrast, the number of queries received in person experienced a substantial increase throughout the time frame. In January 2011 it was the least used means of queries with just over 400 requests. In a period from January to March the number of in-person requests jumped to 800, almost doubling. Then it rocketed until the end of the period in June, reaching a peak of 1900
