From 2000 to 2001, above 30 pecents of sales around the world belonged to CDs, whereas game software accounted for under 10 percentages. In terms of DVD, the sales rose from 19 to 23 just after one year.
On the next two years, the number of CDs sold stood at the same figure for 2001, while there is a noticeable grow in the revenues of DVD or video. In 2003, the global sales on DVD peaked at 30, which is double the figure for 2000. Although the revenues of games software was not as high as others, it steadily grew by 10 over the years.
