The grouped bar charts illustrate the amount of time that children aged from 0 to 9 spend with senior members in their family, specifically their mom and dad. The time studied is divided into two distinct types: weekdays and weekends.
Overall, during weekdays, children seem to be with their mom the majority of time, whereas on weekends, they spend most of their time with both mom and dad.
Regarding days from Monday to Friday, the time that children are accompanied by their mom takes the majority in all age groups. Specifically, kids in age groups 0-1 and 4-9 are with their mother for over 5 hours and the remainder of group 2-3 involves their mother more time with around 6 hours. The time spent exclusively with their father, in contrast, is limited to maximally only 2 hours in groups 0-1, 4-5 and 8-9. Children aged 2-3 and 6-7 only receive an hour of attention from their dad alone. The time with both parents in all age groups varies from one to over 2 hours, with the highest number in group 6 to 7.
For weekends, children’s time is predominantly spent with both their mom and dad, ranging from at least 5 to 6 hours. The time together with mom takes the second place of their whole time, from more than 2 to 4 hours, specifically age groups 0-1, 6-7 and 8-9 involve mom for 4 hours and group 4-5 requires 2 hours. Their dad-only time still occupies the smallest parts of the whole. To be detailed, children in age group 4-5 spend the most time among five groups with nearly a couple of hours, others spend only under one hour.
