The bar chart illustrates how many books borrowed from the Malton Town Library in England in each month of 2009.
Overall, the number of books rented gradually increased despite fluctuations and reached a peak in December throughout the given period.
The number of rentals started at 10 in January but bottomed out at 6 books in February. This situation was not better in March when only one more book was rented compared to the previous month. However, from April, there was a slight increase of 5 books lent and this remained stable at around 13 – 15 rentals in the next 4 months. The number of books that were rented continued to rise, reaching 20 books in August. On the other hand, over the four-month period between August and November, a sharp fall was recorded in the figures for books rented. Even in November, there were only 9 books rented from the library. In contrast, the number of books rocketed in the last month, peaking at 21 books that were borrowed from the mentioned library.
