The table below shows data of the produce of four different grains, namely, wheat, barley, maize and rice since the year 2010 to 2015, with the predictions until 2030. The grains are measured in million metric tons unit (Mmt).
Overall, an increasing trend in production is noticed between 2010 and 2015 for all the grains, except rice. Wheat produce has been the highest among all the grains, whereas rice is the lowest, throughout the years. As for the predictions for the upcoming years from 2020, to 2030, the production is assumed to increase steadily.
Wheat produce with the highest value of 100 Mmt in 2010 rose to 105 Mmt, in 2015. In 2010, barley produce had a significant rise from 50 Mmt to 70 Mmt. As for maize, there was a minor increase from 34 Mmt to 34.5 Mmt. Only rice produce had a minor decline, in 2015, from 24.7 Mmt to 24.5 Mmt.
In the future, the production is likely to be doubled for barley until 2030, from the initial value of 50 Mmt to 100 Mmt. For wheat, there is a steady rise with a predicted value of 110 Mmt, in 2030. Maize and rice are also going to maintain the upscale in production with the prediction of 35 Mmt and 25.5 Mmt, respectively.
