The bar graph illustrates the various purposes for visiting five cities in the UK in 2013. Overall, holidays were the most common reason for travel, dominating three out of five cities. In contrast, miscellaneous reasons were the least popular, representing the lowest percentages in four cities.
In more detail, Edinburgh topped the chart with about 70% of visitors citing holidays as their purpose. London followed with approximately 50%, while Liverpool showed a significant, though lower, holiday percentage of around 35%. In Manchester and Birmingham, business trips were the primary reason for visiting, accounting for nearly 50% and roughly 30%, respectively. Here, holiday trips were less significant, making up just over 20% in Manchester and about 19% in Birmingham.
Visiting friends or relatives was moderately popular across all cities, with percentages ranging from around 20% in Liverpool to slightly higher in others. This category was notably less favored compared to holidays and business trips.
