Below is a chart showing contribution towards charity by British population from eighteen years and above between 1990 and 2010.
As age in the British population increased from 18 to 50 years, contribution towards charity increased significantly over the years but plateaued as the age increased towards 65 years and above. The population between 18 and 25 years made the lowest contribution towards charity.
Contribution towards charity increased as age increased, as seen with an initial 8%in 2010 and 17% in 1990 up to 35% in 2010 and 42%in 1990 at the age of 36-50. The age group between 51 to 65 years and above is seen to have minimal impact towards charity with a marginal drop of 35 -32% in 1990 and 39-35% in 2010.
Similarly, there is minimal impact towards charity by the young adults as they only contributed by 17% in 1990 and 8% in 2010.
