A chart illustrating the proportion, in percentage, of cash donation to charity, by British nationals in age range for 2 years.
All people aged from 18 years and above made a donation of money to help the needy and less fortunate in the society. The age group that contributed the highest was between 36 and 50 years while those between 18 and 25 years gave the least.
The most significant feature is that there was a great decline in giving for the first 3 age groups between 18 and 50 years within the two years. There was a total decline of approximately 7 to 10%.
Another important feature is that for those aged 51 years and above, there was some slight increase of donation in the 2 years. Although minimal, less than 5%, it was impactful to the total collection.
It is also interesting to note that the highest donors were aged between 36 and 50 years. They made a total donation of 70% for the 2 years and were followed closely by those aged between 51 and 65 years. On the other hand, those aged between 18 and 25 years contributed the least amount totaling to less than 25% for both years.
