In terms of popularity for men, action came top of the list, with 40 men who were asked. Around 20 male respondents chose comedy as the next the most popular genre. Thriller was the third on the list, making it slightly more popular than Science, with 15 and 10 in turns. Romantic comedy was half as popular as Western, at 5 and 10 respectively. The most popular film by genre for women was romantic comedy, about 30 answerers. The next best type of film was action, with result of 25 participants. Comedy was similar as for man, about 20 questionnaires. Thrillers are half as popular as comedy by 10 woman who were interviewed. Science was less popular. Westorn genre was more popular as science but similar as thriller with 10 and 5 woman who completed the survey.
Another interesting point was box-office taking in the USA in 2010. Action genre was more popular as other type of genres for ticket sales with 49 percent. Romantic comedy was not nearly as popular as comedy about 12 and 24 percent. Triller was next on the list at 10 percent of people who were asked.
