Overall, it can be seen that three younger age groups donated more in 2009 than they did in 2019, whereas the two older groups donated more in 2019 than in 2009. Further, a higher proportion of middle-aged group tend to donate money more than other age group people.
Looking at the three younger age groups in more detail it is evident that the percentage of people in the 18-25 age group who donated money to charity stood at 19% in 2009 and this number decreased to 9% in 2019, which is the lowest value on the chart. For the 26-35 age group, charity donations in Italy were 33% in 2009 and decreased to 28% in 2019. Similarly, the percentage of people aged 36-50 who give money to charity decreased from 41%, which is the highest value on the chart, to 34% a decade later.
Turning to the two elderly age groups, 35% of people aged 51-65 donated money to the charity in 2009, and this figure increased to 39% in 2019. Finally, in 2009, 31% of people older than 65 donated monies, increasing to 35% in 2019.
