Firstly, in 2005 the most common communication technique was through phone calls which takes 40% of the graph. Furthermore, second and third place correspond to emails and text messages respectively. Finally, the least prefered way to communicate in that period were social media that represents 10% and video calls with 5%.
On the other hand, the 2022 chart depicts an shocking shift from 2005. Social media grew 30% in 17 years, now achiving a 40% in the ways people chose to communicate. Hence, it takes on almost half of the graph overall. Another sharp growth belongs to video calls, which in 2022 represents a 25%. However, phone calls experimented a downwards trend. Whilst in 2005 they were the prefered method of communication, now they only show the 15%. Emails and text messages that were previously that were the second and third most common way to connect, in 2022 they are the less prefered communication method, summing up 40% in total.
