Overall, it is clear that spending on clothes experienced an upward trend. In addition, women’s clothes had the highest figure.
With regard to the amount of money used for women’s clothes stood at 500 dollars per head in 1985, and it rose sharply to around 650 dollars at the end of the period . In contrast , men’s outfits accounted for 350 dollars per head in the initial year, after that it went up slightly to 420 dollars 10 years later before decreasing to 400 dollars in 2005.
Turning to the other categories, boys and girls clothes were recorded at 100 dollars per person from 1985 to 2005 except for girls clothes which increased marginally to 170 dollars in 2005.
