The bar chart depicts how many students from China studied in five different nations between 2014 and 2016. Overall, there was an increase in the total number of students choosing the USA, New Zealand, the UK and Germany as their ideal destinations, while the inverse trend was true for Japan. In addition, the USA and New Zealand were consistently the most popular countries, while Germany and Japan were less favourable options.
The number of Chinese students traveling to the USA for educational opportunities started at about 2700 in 2014, after which it experienced a progressive growth to just under 2900 in the final year while maintaining the highest position. Similarly, the figures for New Zealand and the UK were at around 2500 and exactly 1500 in 2014, which moderately increased to 2700 and 1600 in 2015, before subsequent stabilization to finish the period at that same numbers.
Approximately 350 international students who came from China studied in Germany in 2014, which saw a slight drop to about 300 in 2015 and a mild increase to shy of 400 in the last year. Opposite change can be seen in the figure for Japan, with the number standing at around 400 in the first year, before a slight fluctuation to end the period at just under 380.
