The line graph gives data about proportion of European people of different age groups, such as 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45 and over who visited the gym once a month or more at 4-year intervals between 1990 and 2010.
Overall, Each age group attendance to the gym has risen over the period. Young adults visited the gym the most and the elderly people visited it the least.
The age group of 18-24 and 25-34 experienced upward trend. In 1990, it accounted for around 8 and 9 percent respectively. From 1990 young adults rose non-stop until 2006 and once again climbed the 60 percent in 2007. The adults increased steadily and at the end of the period accounted for 50 percent.
However, the proportion of elderly people remained at the same level until in 2006 shot up. In 2010, the proportion of elderly people went up to its peak and accounted for 21 percent. The increasing trend remained the same for older adults. It witnessed a slight increase and accounted for 40 percent at the end of the period.
