Overall, men are the most affected by heart attacks across every age group. Although the number of women who are affected by heart attacks are negligable from age 29 to 44, the rate of heart attacks tend to increase as they age.
Between the age 29 and 44, the number of heart attacks are common among men, with a recorded value of 123,000. This figure witnessed a growth peaking at 440,000, among men who are more than 65 years. In terms of women, heart attacks are common among the age group from 45 to 64, with 136,000 recorded heart attacks. This value reached its’ highest value at 374,000, in the age group between 65 and above.
In the age groups from 29 to 44 and 45 to 64, there is a significant difference in the number of heart attacks among men and women, with 120 and 288, respectively. However, between the age 65 and above, this difference is nearly 66, highlighting that the rate of heart attacks does not depend on the gender as people age.
