Band 5: The chart below shows information about students studying six main subjects at a US university in 2010 (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The given bar chart illustrates the number of males and females participating in six major subjects at an American university in 2010.

Overall, it can be clearly seen from the chart that, Finance attracted a considerable number of both females and male, Engineering in contrast was the least common subject. Furthermore, Mathematics and Economics chosen by male accounted for a greater number compared to females, whilst females were interested in learning Marketing and Accounting.

According to the chart, Finance was recorded for an equal number of students taking part in to study with around 225 learners. Besides, Marketing was opted for approximately 125 males, which was greater in comparison with female about 50 students. In terms of Accounting, 200 boy learners were fascinated by the category while just 175 girls attended this subject.

Look at the chart for the chart for further details, students generally had less interest in Engineering with only close to 50 participants. In addition, Economics and Mathematics were appropriate for boys with 150 and 200 students respectively compared to girls with 75 and 50 pupils corresponding.
