The first chart illustrates the Morocco’s revenue from different economic sectors in 2003, whereas, the second one demonstrates its income from fishing between 1982 and 2003.
Overall, while the tourism, industry and worker’s remittance sectors exhibited the highest source of income, the remaining categories were notably lower. As for the categories of fishing, there were an upward trend with a huge decline in the last year.
The trend for the Morocco’s revenues from different sectors in 2003, the tourism was the largest source constituting 26%, industry that ranked second place with 24% and worker’s remittance 3% lower. Coming next, fishing and petroleum accounted for 13-14% each. Lastly, the chart low is agriculture that was at a mere 2%.
The breakdown of Morocco’s income for fishing, meanwhile, showed contrasting patterns. To begin with 1982, the average revenue was only about 0.3 million dollars, however, during 13 years, it went up to almost 3 million gradually. Next, the income in 2000 topped the list, reaching just above 4 million dollars, respectively. After that, it dropped to approximately 3.8 million for the next two years, and almost halved in 2003.
