Overall, the UK accounted for the largest number of imported tea, although being the country with the least amount of coffee. In contrast, Canada, which reported the lowest figures for tea, imported the hugest number of coffee, marginally surpassing other countries. A similar pattern could be observed in the USA and Germany with almost balanced import figures.
To begin with, the UK have imported more than 12,000 tonnes of tea, which is significantly higher compared with the amount of coffee, at around 4,000 tonnes. An opposite trend could be observed in Canada that stood at 8,000 tonnes of coffee and 4,000 tonnes of tea, which is identical with the UK’s figures in quantity of coffee.
Regarding the USA and Germany, they had a similar patterns, where the tea amount is slightly higher rather than coffee. The USA have bought approximately 90,000 tonnes of tea and 7,000 tonnes of coffee, being minimally exceeded by Canada. Meanwhile, Germany was ranked the third in both categories with 6,000 for tea and 5,000 for coffee.
