The given chart illustrates how much it cost on average for monthly contracts for four distinct mobile outlets in a particular European country from January to September in 2002, measured in euros.
Overall, the average expenditure on monthly contracts for Sim TX witnessed a downward trend, whereas that of the remaining brands increased by varying degrees. Also notable is that the monthly average cost of contracts for Alpha registered the most pronounced growth despite commencing with lowest starting point.
Looking first at the data of Domo, this cellphone brand topped the chart with the highest figure of 15 euro initially, subsequently increasing to around 17 euro in March. Despite a moderate decline to 16 euro in April, the average cost to deal with this brand soon rose again and reached a peak of 25 euro in July. However, a decrease to nearly 23 euro in the end of the period made this mobile outlet fall from first to second place in the chart. In contrast, albeit starting with the smallest amount of money required for monthly contracts, at 5 euro, Alpha experienced significant rises. Alpha saw the cost for its deal per month increasing to just south of 6 euro in April before bouncing back to the initial point in June. This decrease, however, was short-lived because it was followed by a recovery to 13 euro in August and to 25 euro in September. This surge helps Alpha to exceed Domo to become the most expensive option.
Moving onto Flex and Sim TX, the former initially cost about 13 euro for monthly contracts, slightly ahead of the figure for the latter. Thereafter, the average cost of monthly deal with Flex fell to a nadir of 10 euro in February, with a subsequent recovery to north of 10 euro in the next month. After hovering around there for the next five months, the monthly contract expenditure for this brand climbed to 17 euro in the end of the period. Finally, the only brand witnessing a downward trend in monthly contract cost was Sim TX. Having fluctuated around 10 euro for the first five months, the average cost of monthly contract for this brand dropped to a trough of 7 euro in September despite a dramatic rise to peak of 13 euro in June. This trend, in turn, solidified its position as the mobile brand costing the least for monthly contract.
